LMU | LA - Loyola Marymount University

Welcome to the College of Communication and Fine Arts!

Barbara BusseWe think the best part of CFA comes alive in our talented, creative, and ambitious students – each of whom enjoys their work in a spirit of playful seriousness. Our faculty consists of successful practicing artists and productive scholars who are dedicated to inspiring achievement and thrive on personal interaction with students. The University also has cutting-edge facilities as you will discover in a visual tour of the LMU web site.

We consistently graduate alumni who live full, meaningful, and productive lives. Among the colleges and schools at LMU, CFA has a distinctive mission. Grounded in an excellent liberal arts core curriculum, in CFA we aim to understand at a deep level the rich variety of human expression, to become capable critics of created works of art and communication, and to develop the grounded techniques and personal orientations necessary to expression in art, dance, music, theatre, and communication.

We enjoy the benefits of our own Laband Gallery, Murphy Recital Hall, Strub Theatre, and the Thomas P. Kelly Student Art Gallery. We create in abundant variety: scripts, plays, songs, paintings, ceramics, dance, multimedia designs, jewelry, recordings, photography, debate cases, legal briefs, public speeches, and critical reviews. We are human beings fully alive, finding our creative voices, seeking ways to give expression to what lies embedded in our deepest human selves---heart /soul/mind/body. Our faculty and staff are prepared and eager to help each student discover how to live a full life. Look around our site, contact us with questions, come visit us---and most of all, enjoy the journey!
