Graphic Designers are visual communicators who capture our attention and imagination through the innovative uses of typography, image making and visual storytelling. From the printed word to motion graphics designers visually create messages and experiences that can stimulate, inform and persuade.
Designers shape the way we see, experience, and understand the world by giving form to the objects of our ‘everyday.’ As electronic media evolves, so does design’s ability to influence our quality of life. Design’s ubiquity, and its potential to transform our world—for better or for worse—has never been greater.
At LMU we recognize that graphic design in the university is an integral part of the liberal arts experience, and its greatest potential is far beyond its history of service to consumerism. Graphic design is both a communication art, and a pervasive social medium. In concert with the academic disciplines, and the community at large design can effect change on a local, national, and global scale.
