Fr. Michael Tang received a B.A. in Studio Arts from Loyola Marymount University in 1981 and an M.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1983.
Throughout the 1980s and early 90s, Tang's major work has focused on installation projects: The Wreck of the Deutschland (based on the work of the Jesuit poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins) at the de Saisset Museum, Santa Clara University, in Santa Clara, CA; Sacred Diversities, at Simon James Gallery, in Berkeley, CA; and Hollywood Boulevard, at Lied Art Gallery at Creighton University, in Omaha.
Most recently Tang's watercolors were featured in an exhibition at the National Catholic Museum of Art and History in New York. Tang is represented by Ann Gabor Arancio Fine Arts, In Oakland, CA, and by the Beresford Gallery, Unionville, PA.
