Internship Opportunities
The Studio Arts program encourages LMU students to explore real-world work opportunities through a variety of resources. Each of the Studio Arts programs offer resources as well as guidelines and recommendations for Internships appropriate to their respective areas. The Multimedia Arts curriculum requires and the Graphic Design curriculum recommends strongly that students obtain internship experiences in their senior year. The Fine Arts curriculum also suggests students apply for internships in museums, artists’ studios and agencies. The Art Education curriculum requires participation in the ARTsmart community program as art teachers at local schools. Students are encouraged to consult with faculty as well as perform their own research to find the internship that suits them best. The greater Los Angeles area is inundated with these internship opportunities. From galleries, museums, non-profit centers, artist studios, film and video production studios, advertising agencies, interactive design studios, and visual effects facilities, the odds of landing a great internship that will provide insight into real world practices are certainly favorable!
