Our program confronts and examines the most pressing contemporary political, social, and moral issues of our time.
The Communication Studies program confronts and examines the most pressing contemporary political, social, and moral issues of our time, preparing students with an intelligent perspective on the world they’ll enter after LMU.
We seek out and cultivate a faculty committed to generating scholarship and create a curriculum balancing communication theory and practice. Many of our professors are also current practitioners in the areas they teach, giving students the most up-to-date, cutting edge perspective on communications.
Drawing on the unique cultural, commercial, and civic mix in the Los Angeles area, our program takes both critical and creative approaches to learning. Our faculty prepares students to distinguish themselves in a variety of professions, including education, law, media, social advocacy, politics, and non-profit and corporate communications. Our overarching goal, however, transcends professional achievement. We also want to give our students the tools to make our global community a more equitable and just place to live and work.
