Dance Minors

Dance Minors

The minor in dance is intended to provide a well-rounded physical experience of dance practices as well as movement histories and theories for students who are interested in pairing dance with their primary area of study.

Degree Requirements: 20 semester hours (minimum)

The minor requires completion of courses in Dance Technique, Choreography, Pedagogy, Theory, and Dance in its Cultural Context for a minimum of 20 semester hours. Some courses do have prerequisites, so students are encouraged to seek academic advising before pursuing the minor. Dance minors are not allowed to take variable-unit courses for 0.

Admission

The dance minor is for both experienced and non-experienced movers. There is no audition requirement nor application process to become a dance minor. Please email the dance department Chair if interested.

I. Choreography: 3 semester hours required
