Facilities

In the fall of 1984, Loyola Marymount opened the Burns Fine Arts Center facility. Housed with the Art and Music Departments, the dance studios are in proximity of Murphy Recital Hall and the Laband Art Gallery. Two large, light and airy studios with spring floors and a smaller rehearsal studio allow ample space for classes, rehearsals and guest artist activities. Located next to the studios are dressing rooms with shower facilities. Students enjoy state-of-the-art audio and video equipment for classroom and creative uses, and access to musical instruments.

Faculty offices are in Burns, allowing for centrality of the dance program.

The Dance Program utilizes Strub Theatre, also referred to as the Mainstage, for all of its formal productions. Strub is located in the Foley Building at the center of campus. The theatre seats 172 people in fixed raked seating and features a proscenium stage. The green room, properties room and costume storage are located downstairs, and the scene shop is located backstage left.

Also located in the Foley building are the costume shop and a fully equipped Pilates studio.
