The Department is pleased to provide this referral list to members of the public who wish to engage the services of an art therapist.
Art Therapists on this list have demonstrated professional criteria to be eligible to provide therapy, but inclusion on this list does not constitute LMU's specific endorsement. All the individuals on this list are graduates of the LMU program, have marriage and family therapy licenses (LMFT) and are Registered Art Therapists (ATR or ATR-BC). In addition, individuals on this list who are designated as providing "Post Graduate Supervision" have fulfilled the Art Therapy Credential Board's requirements to provide such supervision.
ATR Requirements Change: Effective January 1, 2018, a minimum of half the required post-education art therapy experience hours must be supervised by a board certified art therapist (ATR-BC) and/or an art therapy certified supervisor (ATCS). The ATCB will continue to accept supervision provided by a registered art therapist (ATR); however, a minimum of half the supervision hours must be provided by at least an ATR-BC. This change will apply to all ATR applicants who graduate (or complete their education requirements) on or after January 1, 2018.
