The Helen B. Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic

The Graduate Department of Marital and Family Therapy at Loyola Marymount University is pleased to announce the opening of the Helen B. Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic. On June 3, 2007 a reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony inaugurated the clinic, honoring Helen Landgarten’s pioneering influence in establishing clinical art therapy at LMU. The clinic’s mission is to serve the community by offering pro bono art psychotherapeutic interventions to underserved and underprivileged children and families who are in need of support and assistance. Additionally it will serve the educational needs of the department’s graduate students and alumnae by providing opportunities to participate in and observe on-site art therapy services. The clinic’s first endeavor, facilitated by Helen Landgarten and Judy Flesh, will engage pregnant adolescent girls attending continuation high school in South Los Angeles. The faculty, staff, students and alumnae of the program all look forward to expanding and developing a wider array of service opportunities through the Helen B. Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic.

Profs. Paige Asawa, Debra Linesch, and Maxine Junge, with Helen Landgarten and CFA Dean Barbara Busse
