Students Receive Prestigious MFT Stipend Awards
The State of California Marriage and Family Therapist Stipend Program and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Marriage and Family Therapist Stipend Program have both completed their award process for 2016-2017. LMU is very proud to announce that 10 students graduating in May 2017 have each been awarded an $18,500 stipend. These highly competitive stipends are funded in part by the Mental Health Service Act (MHSA) and are designed to recruit linguistically and culturally competent therapists who are committed to working with the diverse populations served in public mental health.
“Each of these students worked incredibly hard to achieve this prestigious honor,” said Practicum Coordinator Kathleen Fogel-Richmond. “We are very proud of their achievements and are excited to follow their educational trajectories as they move on to internships in public mental health.”
