In this section

Faculty member and Clinic Director, Dr. Paige Asawa, has been invited to present at the 47th Japanese National Art Therapy Conference in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Asawa will present on the role of the art in the therapeutic relationship. The presentation will explore the concept of Yorisou, which relates to the liminal space between the art therapist, the client and the art. She will be accompanied by program alumna Madoka Urhausen who will be providing support and translation during the conference meetings and presentation. Ms. Urhausen has been a faculty in the department and a long time supervisor for students in practicum. She participated in the Helen B. Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic's ART FIRST training and facilitated art making in the Save the Children Child Friendly Spaces program in a response to a multi-dwelling fire in Oxnard last year.
