The Journal of Clinical Art Therapy

The Journal of Clinical Art Therapy

The Journal of Clinical Art Therapy (JCAT) is an online peer-reviewed publication sponsored by the Graduate Department of Marital and Family Therapy with specialized training in art therapy, within the College of Communication and Fine Arts at Loyola Marymount University. The journal contributes to the knowledge base that supports the practice of art therapy within a systemic context. It is informed by community mental health practices, engagement in artistic processes and a broad understanding of diversity. By presenting scholarship and professional writing, the journal communicates and supports the work of clinical art therapists, augments their dialogue with adjacent fields and creates stronger field specific knowledge. Call for Papers: Journal of Clinical Art Therapy

We are gearing up for our second edition and want to encourage you to submit papers to our peer reviewed online art therapy journal! We are interested in papers that explore art therapy with unique populations or cultural considerations relevant to our work. Papers should follow submission guidelines and specifications and be submitted for first review on a rolling basis for the peer review and revision process before publication.

Currently we are re-envisioning the journal as a yearly publication, with a unique mission that offers a specific contribution to the art therapy community and profession. While we’re in transition, we are suspending submissions until 2022.
