Come Sing with Us
The Oriana Vocal Ensemble is the premiere treble voice ensemble at LMU comprised of the top singers at the university. This choir is not gender specific and open to all members of the LMU community. This choir tours annually and specializes in choral repertoire of all periods and genres with a special focus on the choral works written for treble voices.
The Oriana Vocal Ensemble performs regularly with the LMU Concert Choir, Consort Singers, and orchestra to present major works. A major mission of the Oriana Vocal Ensemble is to create a space for all who wish to perform in choir the opportunity to perform at the highest levels and discover ways to communicate and serve their audiences and surrounding communities.
How to Get Involved
LMU Oriana Vocal Ensemble (MUSC 493) meets Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This course is currently open and registration will continue through the first week of classes. Singers interested in joining the Consort Singers must sign up for an audition.
Preliminary Auditions for Consort Singers and Oriana Vocal Ensemble will take place from August 25 to August 27. Preliminary Auditions will take place in-person or via Zoom upon request.

Audition Requirements: 1) The audition will cover vocal range, vocal quality, tonal memory, sight-reading, and a short song. 2) Please bring copies of sheet music and be prepared to sing an art song, aria, or portion of a choral work of your choosing. If you do not have something ready to perform, you may choose from My Country 'Tis of Thee, The Star Spangled Banner, or Amazing Grace. Copies of these scores will be made available.
NOTE: Membership in Consort Singers requires registration in MUSC 492.08 Choral Lab which meets Mondays from 8:15pm-8:45pm.
Callbacks will take place during the first rehearsals on Monday, August 28 for Oriana Vocal Ensemble, and Tuesday, August 29 for Consort Singers.
