LMU Dance’s Commercial Dance Career Catapult Initiative unveils a truly transformative journey for dance majors, equipping them for the dynamic landscape of the entertainment industry. Our initiative is designed to empower and uplift, starting with an immersive curriculum focused on commercial dance history, foundations, and technique. Following 4–6 semesters of dedicated training, students earn the opportunity to audition for our prestigious Senior Industry Showcase.
Through a holistic 7-month training program, students not only refine their physical stamina and choreography retention skills, but also cultivate a deep understanding of the business of dance. This culminating initiative crescendos with a captivating industry showcase at a prime professional dance location in the Los Angeles. Here, our seniors immerse themselves in original choreography by professional choreographers and captivate decision-makers including choreographers, casting directors, and top Los Angeles talent agencies.
This catapult initiative is helmed under the guidance of our Director of Commercial Dance and Recruitment, Geri Brown, with assistant direction by Lauren Froderman. This initiative is a launchpad for dancers to thrive in every facet of the commercial dance realm.
