Overview
The vocal studies concentration is designed to engage students in advanced studies in vocal performance. Students will develop expertise in performance as a soloist and an ensemble member. Students in the concentration will prepare for a professional career beyond their university experience and benefit from our centralized location in Los Angeles, one of the world’s major artistic centers.

Academic Requirements
In addition to the 38 semester hours of general music major requirements and the foreign language requirement, students in the concentration will take MUSC 310 Instrumental Pedagogy; MUSC 344 Alexander Technique; and MUSC 450 Senior Project/Recital*.
*Vocal and instrumental studies students perform a senior recital as part of their concentration. Senior capstone projects vary in the other concentrations.
