Jason Jarvis, Ph.D Chair, Associate Professor
Jason is the current chair of LMU Communication Studies, with a doctorate in public communication from Georgia State University. His current research examines the political use of images in networked communication environments. He also maintains secondary research interests in environmental communication, which was the focus of his Master's Thesis, and Asian argument cultures.
Allison Noyes, Ph.D Co-Associate Chair, Associate Professor
Allison is a co-associate chair and associate professor of communication studies, who specializes in organizational and group communication, health care organizations, and strategic communication. Her current research focuses on inter-professional collaboration, organizational culture and power dynamics, care disparities, and palliative care. She holds her BA in politics from Mount Holyoke College and MA and Ph.D. degrees in communication from the University of Southern California.
Kyra Pearson, Ph.D Co-Associate Chair, Associate Professor
Kyra is a co-associate chair and associate professor of communication studies. She teaches courses in rhetorical criticism and theory, emphasizing the analysis of public discourse, from advertising and social movements to rap music, and public spaces. Her research focuses on rhetoric, feminism and U.S. public culture. She received her BA from U.C. Davis, and her MA and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
Lisa Tanaka Senior Administrative Coordinator
Lisa is the Senior Administrative Coordinator for LMU Communication Studies. She performs a wide variety of administrative and professional duties to support the department chair, faculty, advisors, and students.
