Admissions

This minor is open to students from all majors, but admission to the minor is highly selective. Applicants are required to have a minimum 3.0 LMU GPA and successfully complete a competitive admissions process. Not all students who apply will be admitted, and enrollment in the minor is limited to a maximum of 24 students.

Admissions Process

The application for the CMPR Minor consists of an entrance exam and supplementary application material. Both are due Friday, February 9th.

The entrance exam is a short, timed 90-minute exam administered through Brightspace. It consists of two parts: drafting a short press release and editing a press release. The entrance exam will be live for one week (10:00 p.m. 10/03 - 5:00 p.m. 10/11). You can take the exam on your own schedule, but it is a timed exam so you must complete it in one sitting. Please e-mail Ms. Lisa Tanaka by October 3rd at lisa.lugo@lmu.edu to receive a link to the Brightspace exam.

Upon completion of your entrance exam, it will automatically be submitted via Brightspace. You do not need to e-mail your exam.

The supplementary application material consists of two documents:

A pdf of your degree audit, and
An updated resume.

Please email Ms. Lisa Tanaka at lisa.lugo@lmu.edu to request a Box folder to upload your supplementary application materials into which are due no later than 5:00 p.m on Friday, October 11.

Please note: Only complete applications, including the entrance exam and supplementary application materials, will be considered.
