Why Minor in PR?
LMU's Minor in Public Relations situates professional practice within a context of the broader communication studies discipline. Interdisciplinary in nature, the minor exposes students to multiple conceptual frameworks while emphasizing applied skills. This program was created to meet a growing demand for this program, and although it is offered through the College of Communication and Fine Arts, LMU students from any major and college may apply, but students should keep in mind that admission to the minor is competitive and involves an entrance exam.
Students who complete the program will gain an understanding of basic principles of public relations, will begin developing writing and research skills necessary for a career in public relations, and have the opportunity to complete an internship in the field.
