Minor in Dance

Our Minor in Dance is open to all LMU students, regardless of their major. The curriculum includes courses in dance technique, choreography, history, theory and pedagogy, and offers the opportunity for students to tailor their coursework in alignment with their interest, passions, or primary field of study. The Minor in Dance is a valuable addition to any student's education, allowing them to develop their creative and critical thinking while also enhancing their movement skills and interdisciplinary perspectives. Students may apply for the minor in the fall semester. Placement auditions are conducted at the end of each fall semester. Acceptance is as space allows.

How to Become a Minor

All students interested in adding the dance minor will be required to attend an audition in the fall semester. Prior to the audition you must submit the finished questionnaire form by October 15th.

Majors moving to the minor will be required to complete the same audition process to ensure that a minor in dance is right for your change of career path.

Curriculum

The minor in dance is intended to provide a well-rounded physical experience of dance practices as well as movement histories and theories for students who are interested in pairing dance with their primary area of study. Learn More*
