Visit LMU Dance: Tours & Events for Prospective Students

Whether you're a first-year applicant or a transfer student, we invite you to experience the energy, creativity, and community that define LMU Dance. Our in-person and virtual events are designed to give you an authentic glimpse into our program, faculty, and student life.

We believe the best way to truly understand LMU Dance is to visit us in person or online—meet our inspiring faculty, connect with current students, and explore our beautiful campus. If you're able, we highly encourage you to schedule a visit. Dance-specific tours are offered on Mondays and Fridays, led by current LMU Dance students.

Spend a full day on campus experiencing LMU Dance through classes, Q&As, and performances for accepted students and those strongly considering LMU Dance.

Schedule:

  • 9:00am–12:00pm Admitted Students Day @ LMU
  • 12:15–12:30pm Check-In
    • Atrium outside of Murphy Recital Hall
  • 12:30–1:30pm Lunch + Student Q&A
    • Pizza and salad (vegan and gluten-free options available)
    • Students are welcome to pack a lunch if they prefer or have additional dietary needs
  • 1:30–1:40pm Transfer to Burns Fine Arts Studios
    • FR/SO: BFA 239 
    • JR/SR: BFA 229
  • 1:40–2:40pm Class #1
    • FR/SO: Class #1
    • JR/SR: Class #1
  • 2:00–3:00pm Parent/Guardian Chat
  • 2:50–3:50pm Class #2

  • 3:50–4:00pm Transfer to Dunning Courtyard
  • 4:00–5:00pm Campus Tour
  • 5:00–6:00pm Student Performance + Closing Ceremonies
    • Murphy Recital Hall

What to Wear:

  • Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing
  • Hip Hop & Jazz Funk: Sneakers
  • Jazz: Jazz shoes
  • Contemporary: Barefoot or turners
  • Feel free to bring layers and water to stay comfortable throughout the day
