Plunge: LMU Dance’s Pre-Semester Intensive

Photo: Julie Lisa Joseph

Plunge is Loyola Marymount University Dance Program’s pre-semester intensive, designed exclusively for dance majors. This immersive, three-day workshop serves as a launchpad for the academic year, providing students with the opportunity to engage in rigorous technical training, creative process, and collaborative exploration with acclaimed guest artists.

Held just before the fall semester begins, Plunge includes daily technique classes, repertory sessions, and interdisciplinary panels that explore the intersection of dance with fields such as media, business, and arts entrepreneurship. In addition to cultivating artistry and professional skills, the intensive supports community building across all class years, welcoming new majors and reuniting returning students.
