LMU Dance supports seniors in preparing for life after graduation through two optional career preparation tracks: the Senior Industry Showcase and the Concert Dance Showcase. Students may elect to participate in either track, or both, depending on their professional goals.
Commercial Dance Showcase
The Senior Industry Showcase connects LMU Dance students directly with the commercial dance world, offering valuable opportunities to network and build relationships with top Los Angeles agents, managers, choreographers, directors, and casting professionals. Hosted off-campus at the prestigious Los Angeles Dance Project, the showcase features original works by leading industry choreographers and supports students in cultivating meaningful connections with decision-makers, embracing their unique artistic voices, and shaping realistic, sustainable careers within the expansive field of commercial dance.

Concert Dance Showcase
The Concert Dance Showcase, part of the LMU Fall Dance Concert, highlights students in a featured work choreographed by a guest artist, along with any additional pieces they are cast in through the department’s fall audition process. Focused on concert dance, the showcase offers students the chance to collaborate closely with local and national freelance choreographers and artistic directors. It culminates in a performance and post-show networking reception, where invited industry professionals provide valuable opportunities for students to build connections and explore potential career paths.

Both tracks provide structured support in developing essential professional materials, including headshots, resumes, dance reels, and personal brand identity. Through mentorship, hands-on workshops, and real-world experiences, LMU Dance prepares students to transition confidently into the professional world equipped with the tools, connections, and industry insight needed to thrive in their chosen careers.
