Meet Jesseca
Jesseca Cipkas is a dancer and choreographer from Connecticut and has trained in a variety of styles including jazz, hiphop, modern, contemporary, and ballet. They will earn their B.A in Dance and Political Science from Loyola Marymount University. As an undergraduate Jesseca has performed in the works of Bernard Brown, Laura Ann Smyth, and Marcella Lewis. She has also choreographed her own piece in the Senior Thesis Show.
Jesseca’s artistry comes from having a soulful connection with oneself, the community, music, and nature, while also critically analyzing systems of power and how we are in relation to them. Her background in political science combined with her dance training offers an interdisciplinary and analytical approach to movement and its cultural relevance.
