Meet Emily
Emily Hillebrandt is a dancer, creative, and writer based in Los Angeles. She grew up dancing in Santa Barbara California where she trained with the pre-professional dance company SSBYD affiliated with State Street Ballet in ballet and modern. At Loyola Marymount University studying both dance and English, she enjoyed continued training in modern, contemporary, jazz, ballet and commercial styles as well as embracing dance research and education. In her time there she danced in works by Taryn Vander Hoop, Marcella Lewis, Damon Rago and Vera Passos. As a dancer and writer, she is interested in elements of both literature and movement that induce emotion or reflection, and the similarities these creative processes possess. She uses movement as her medium, therapy, playground, support, tool, and voice.
