Meet Shelby

Shelby Lawrence (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based dancer. She began her journey at four in the San Diego Civic Dance Arts (SDCDA) program focusing on tap, jazz, ballet, Hip-Hop, musical theater, and modern. She continued her training as a member of SDCDA’s advanced performing company, learning from choreographers; Maud Arnold, Brad Bradley, Kenji Igus, Daniel Lewis, and Mia Michaels.

Shelby will be graduating from Loyola Marymount University this year, receiving a B.A. in Dance and Psychology. Through her time at LMU, Shelby has performed in works by Bernard Brown, Janessa Clark, Marcella Lewis, Alexa Nof, Rosalynde Leblanc Loo, and Laura Smyth. Furthering her dance education, she took part in intensive workshops from Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company and WHYTEBERG.

Upon graduating from LMU, Shelby will be participating in two summer training programs, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s CREATE Intensive and Northwest Dance Project’s Summer Dance Platform. She is excited to learn from both companies and bring back these experiences to both the concert and commercial dance industries in LA.
