Meet Yinny

Yinny is a multifaceted dancer, choreographer, and artist from Hong Kong, currently based in Los Angeles. Beginning her training in classical ballet, she later expanded into hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, fusion movement, and freestyle, developing a deep passion for storytelling and choreography. She is a graduating senior at Loyola Marymount University, earning her bachelor's degree in Dance with a minor in Media Arts. Since moving to LA, she has performed in works by Joan Rodriguez (BodyTraffic), Laurie Sefton, and Entity, blending concert and commercial dance to cultivate her own unique style.

Beyond school, Yinny is an active member of the LA/OC dance community. She competed with UCLA’s ACA Dance Team, winning first place at the 2022 Prelude NorCal Dance Competition, and is currently part of Paths, a competitive OC-based dance team. In 2023, she began training in house freestyle, leading to her win at the 2024 LA Renovate Rookie House Battle. Recently, she has expanded into choreography, teaching a community class at LMNL Creative Space and choreographing for Paths’ upcoming sets. She also participated in Sarah Yang’s Choreography Mentorship Program (Vol. 4) and continues her house training under Jimmy "Cricket" Colter. Whether in freestyle or choreography spaces, she values collaboration and contributing to the dance communities she loves.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Yinny is also passionate about photography, fashion styling, modeling/print, film, and visual arts. She aspires to build a career in choreography, teaching, and performance while exploring interdisciplinary collaborations. Looking ahead, she hopes to create with other artists, teach, perform on stage, and take on projects that align with her vision, while also seeking opportunities to work in the dance and entertainment industry. Her long-term goal is to continue expanding her artistic expression and eventually transition into creative direction, community building, and education.
