LMU Senior Showcase 2024

Welcome!

Last year we launched our Equitable Commercial Dance and Career Preparedness Program.

This co-curricular program augments our core dance curriculum, providing our students with the opportunity to explore the depths of commercial dance and career readiness. Infused with the rich traditions of Loyola Marymount University, coupled with the dynamism of our city of Los Angeles, the Equitable Commercial Dance and Career Preparedness Program increases students’ latitude for varied, meaningful, and sustainable careers in dance. Through intentionally transformative experiences, our goal is not only to help them envision their future careers but to awaken their understanding of the immense impact they can have as future dance changemakers.

At the heart of our inaugural program lies a conviction that extends beyond dance training. We are driven to break barriers and ignite positive change. In pursuit of this vision, we've collaborated closely with dance leaders in entertainment, bridging the gap between collegiate dance education and the professional dance industry.

When I think about the place we started just a year ago, hope surges within me for what lies ahead. I am filled with the belief that this generation possesses the power to create a brighter tomorrow where dance is a powerful storytelling agent in mainstream media and professional dancers reflect the rich diversity of our world. Each individual you will see performing today carries the torch of possibility, poised to leave an indelible mark on our collective national and global dance communities.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support of LMU Dance. Your belief in our students is the lifeblood that feeds our actualities today and possibilities tomorrow. Thank you for attending and now, without further ado, introducing the 2024 Senior Industry Showcase.
