Meet Sophia
Sophia Pizzuti is a dancer from Portland, OR, currently finishing up her studies of dance and business at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. Starting in her first dance class when she was only 2-years-old, Sophia immediately fell in love with dance as a creative outlet to express herself emotionally and physically. She grew up performing in both concert and competition dance settings, resulting in a versatile performer that enjoys the styles of jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, and ballet. As Sophia has continued to develop her artistry and craft within dance, she has explored choreographic endeavors as well, showcasing her first piece at LMU in the Senior Thesis Concert in April. Under the guidance and training of artists such as Laura Smyth, Laura Berg, James Gregg, Taryn Vander Hoop, and Steve Zee, Sophia has been able to hone in on her skills, performing in works by choreographers such as Madi Hicks, Marquisa “Miss Prissy” Gardner, and Laura Smyth. In May of 2024, Sophia will have achieved two Bachelor's degrees in Dance and Entrepreneurship, an accomplishment she is incredibly proud of. Sophia is excited and intrigued about all of the possibilities within the dance industry and wants to pursue her passion for as long as she can.
