Meet Makena

Makena Robison (she/her) is a multi-faceted dance artist based in Los Angeles, CA. She is originally from Las Vegas, NV where beginning at the age of 5 she trained in various movement styles such as jazz, ballet, musical theatre, and contemporary at her home studio. She has also trained extensively in hula and has performed with Hawaiian music icons Kuana Torres Kahele and Robert Cazimero. Makena currently attends Loyola Marymount University from which she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Dance as a part of the university honors program. During her time in the LMU dance program, she has trained with artists such as James Gregg, Laura Berg, and Jermaine McGhee and performed in pieces choreographed by Damon Rago, Madi Hicks, Taryn VanderHoop, and Colleen Thomas. Makena is especially invested in dance as a vessel for social justice and an honest display of the human experience.
