LMU Music offers a broad array of major and minor concentrations, allowing our students to receive a music education that is both wide in scope and specialized by interest. After building a primarily classical foundation in the first two years in the major, students select a concentration that governs their third and fourth years. Students choose from Contemporary Styles and Practices, Instrumental Studies, Vocal Studies, Theory/Composition, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, and Conducting.
Our bachelor’s degree in music prepares students for a variety of graduate study opportunities, as well as a variety of careers immediately following graduation. Our graduates pursue fulfilling careers as musicologists, composers, conductors, arts administrators, music educators, and professional performers.
