Student Performances
Student performances are at the heart of the LMU Music Department and add tremendous value to the artistic life of the university at large. Each semester, our talented students share their performance gifts with the LMU community in student recitals, ensemble performances, Sinatra Opera Workshop, and annual choral concerts. Many of these performance opportunities are open to non-majors and members of the wider university community.
Music Faculty Recitals
Many of the music faculty members are active performing artists, known for their work both nationally and internationally. These talented performers gather each fall term to share their varied gifts with delighted audiences. Individual faculty members frequently present solo recitals both on- and off-campus throughout the year.
Children's Concerts
Early in the spring semester, children of all ages enjoy these delightful performances presented by our vocalists and instrumentalists in ensembles and the Sinatra Opera Workshop, as they present music that tells a story. The performances often include guest artists from the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, as well as young student artists and performers from local elementary schools.
Visiting Artist and Lecture Series
Supported by funding through the LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts, visiting artists present a variety of performing genre for the benefit of both our university and local communities.
