Welcome!
What makes our voice program special is that our goal is to help all of our students pursue their dreams as performers, teachers, and scholars. As a member of the LMU choirs, you will be nurtured and guided by teachers who are not just recognized experts but also truly care about their students.
The ensembles appear in the most beautiful venues on campus, in Southern California, and the world. Past performances include L.A.'s Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, the church of the Frari in Venice, in Rome's Basilica Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, and the Sistine Chapel. In addition to Masses at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, they have also given concerts in Munich, Germany, Salzburg and Vienna, Austria, and Paris, Versailles, and Normandy, France.
Audition for the LMU Choirs Fall 2026!
We are planning a tour to Japan with all choral ensembles in May 2027 and would love to have as many singers as possible join us! Auditions for new students will be held in person from Wed., Aug. 26 - Mon., Aug. 31. For those who prefer an earlier audition time over zoom, please contact Dr. Johns at ben.johns@lmu.edu.
To schedule your audition, click here. Then, please fill out this short survey before arriving at the audition.
Auditions are in BFC 211 (circled on the map!). Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointed time. There is no need to prepare anything. We will check vocal range, sight sing, and play musicianship games. The audition grants you access to LMU Concert Choir. Select students will be invited to join Oriana Vocal Ensemble and/or Consort Singers.
