LMU Jazz Ensemble

The LMU Jazz Ensemble provides a fun environment for musicians of all skill levels to improvise, learn music by ear, and read music. Music of all jazz genres will be learned and performed by either small groups or big band (instrumentation allowing).

Requirements

Assessments will be done on the first day of class - Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Please have the melody to Charlie Parker’s ‘Now’s the Time’ prepared and be ready to solo over a concert F 12-bar blues. Contact Professor McCabe with any questions or to request a lead sheet. LMU faculty and staff may contact HR to obtain tuition remission and register through PROWL.
