Anton Chekhov's masterpiece in a new translation, side-by-side with Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning adaptation of Chekhov themes that doesn't require familiarity with Chekhov. The Prozorova sisters find life in their small town dull and dream of Moscow. Few other plays have ever conveyed more subtly the transitory beauty and sadness of the passing moment. Durang pulls no punches in his playful romp all over Chekhov, in a play which the New York Times noted, "Even if you've never read a word of Chekhov, you're likely to find plenty to make you laugh."
