The LMU Theater Arts Department's New Works Festival is a theatrical surprise package of original short plays written, directed, acted, designed and produced by students. Two bills of plays are performed alternately on four evenings with a marathon of all the plays on the final day.

With 14 plays in production at the same time, the New Works Festival brings together multiple talents of the theatre department in one presentation. Plays are selected from a campus-wide competition and represent a wide range of styles and genres from comedy, tragedy and horror to the experimental, the political, and the purely ridiculous. Come and be surprised. The festival is produced by Judith Royer, CSJ and Doris Baizley serves at the dramaturg for the festival.

Bill 1 includes: Adeline and Pinky the Eraser, Demon in the Box, The Lunch Counter, Bringing the Truth to Light: a Black Light Piece, Latter That Day, Our Mistake, and Painting this Sunny Drive.

Bill 2 includes: The Great and Powerful, Date and a Fifth, Unstuck, Just a Game, Reveal Night, Alex from Baby Gap, and Borderline Brotherhood.
