Sydney Smith is an actress born and raised from the inviting, beachy shores of Dana Point, California. She spent the large majority of her childhood playing sports like softball and volleyball and getting sand stuck between her toes, but unearthed her passion for acting after watching a rendition of Milk like Sugar at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. In an attempt to squash her fear of public speaking, she boldly decided that the performing arts were the best remedy. She started in makeup and hair but couldn’t ignore the call of the stage for long. Sydney played roles like Dr. Swinford in David and Lisa and Florence in Phantom of the Opera: The American Musical Sensation. Sydney graduated with a B.A. in Theater Arts and in Modern Languages where she studied Spanish and Italian at Loyola Marymount University. At university she was given the magical opportunity to perform the musical Cabaret in front of the one and only, Liza Minelli, in the role Fräulein Kost. She hopes to incorporate her love for language with her acting career path and maybe even try her hand at learning French.
