Sara Bunge is embarrassed to confess that Los Angeles has converted her into a tofu and falafel enthusiast, although her roots will always remain at Chicago’s infamous Pequod’s Pizza, eating a slice of pepperoni deep dish, or inhaling a Chicago Style dog at a Cubbie’s game.

One thing about Sara has always been true: whatever she’s doing, she’s all in. You could find a fourth-grade Sara rehearsing for her first role as one of Ursula’s eight tentacles in The Little Mermaid by day, and leading vocals on Jet’s hit “Are You Gonna Be My Girl?” at Chicago’s House of Blues by night (much to the dismay of her very concerned Grandmother). This synergy of art and expression catalyzed Sara’s lifelong dedication to intensive training, enlightening discovery, and fulfilling experience in acting, singing, movement, and comedy. Diving into diverse roles like Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown, and Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice deepened her curiosity just in time for her to begin furthering her education, pursuing a BA in theatre arts at Loyola Marymount University (and later adding a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential).

Living in LA has proven to be a wonderland for Sara as she has been able to expand and hone her crafts through playing roles such as Adlean in Barbecue and Lucas Carter in Bare: A Pop Opera, getting to know and work in the world of TV and film, leading in a workshop of an empowering new musical called Jeanette, taking classes at The Groundlings Comedy School, and recently trying her hand in direction at the LMU New Works Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. Sara is beyond stoked to continue to work, play, and learn within this industry, and wants to thank her deeply beautiful and brilliant friends, family, peers, and mentors for the continual support, love, and laughs.
