Dean's Welcome

Welcome to LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts’ 2025-2026 Events and Performance Season. We are excited and optimistic of what this new academic year will bring. Our undergirding commitments to creativity, innovation, the service of faith and promotion of justice are made manifest in the diverse season of events: performances, lectures, workshops, and we are appropriately critical of the times in which we are living, hence all our scheduled events invite students, guests, and audiences to analyze what it truly means to be human, as we negotiate our cultural lives in our common home.

One of the hallmarks of public performance and exhibition is liveliness - the quality of being outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic and the established atmosphere of excitement and activity with the purpose of stimulating meaningful thought and appropriate action. Our season offers a range of engagements as we continue to address the shifting conditions that impact our critical and creative labor, and the broader socio-political climate of our time. We invite you to join us in that space where probability meets possibility as we strive towards potentiality, which is our collective future. All are welcome here!
