Brian Poth, '97

Remember the show Kid's Incorporated? Brian does. That's where he got his start as an actor and dancer in 1987 on the Disney Channel hit series along with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Fergie, and Mario Lopez. Brian graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount in 1997 with a BFA in Film Production. He spent most of his free time in the theater department and Del Rey Players minoring in performance with Judith Royer C.S.J., Dianne Benedict, and Ron Marasco. Today Brian is considered by all standards a veteran actor, guest starring in over 80 episodes of television. His break-out role came when he was hand picked by Alan Ball to play Marc Foster on HBO's critically acclaimed series Six Feet Under.

Poth spent three seasons as Tyler Jenson on the CSI: Miami, and has guest starred on The X Files, The West Wing, Cold Case, Saving Grace, CSI: New York, and Grey's Anatomy, just to name a few. Most recently, Brian spent the last two seasons with the cast of True Blood as Vampire Matt, and recurred with David Duchovny in Aquarius, Emily Deschanel in Bones, and crafted one of the creepiest and most violent UnSubs in Criminal Minds history.

"I'm so lucky to have studied with such unbelievably talented and passionate professors and students at LMU. I owe all I know about the craft to them. I learned by watching. I was jealous of the talent I was surrounded by, and it inspired me. I knew acting would continue to challenge me my entire life... and I am still learning. To me, talent is intoxicating."
