What is CFA Engage?

CFA Engage provides CFA students with the opportunity to leverage their co-curricular experiences as part of their LMU journey. CFA Engage ties co-curricular experiences to achievements that complement a student’s academic curriculum – supporting post-graduation career success and ongoing personal growth.

CFA Engage activates the core values and learning goals at the heart of CFA, where we encourage students to develop creative, critical, and ethical perspectives toward knowing, doing, and being.

CFA Engage is organized around three key commitments:

Career Readiness

CFA Engage works to empower students to identify and articulate the knowledge and skills that will make them ready to launch successful post-graduation professional journeys.

The goal of our Career Readiness emphasis is to assist students in the development of essential job-search tools, including the critical reflection and self-assessment needed for continued growth (life-long learning), and the exploration of professional opportunities that speak to the fullness of their talents and goals.

Community

At its heart, CFA is a community – and has deep commitments to creating, sustaining, and transforming human social relations in differing contexts.

The goal of our Community emphasis is to assist students to find their diverse communities and develop the self-awareness, cultural consciousness, and the social responsibility essential to being engaged citizens and leaders who shape the fabric and futures of these communities.

Create and Communicate

In CFA we embrace “art as communication/communication as art.” By embracing the informative, formative, and transformative power of what we do across all aspects of our creative, critical, and expressive experiences, CFA works to empower students to develop the foundational skills and characteristics that support Career Readiness. Students are also empowered to expand their ability Create and Communicate achievements and seize productive opportunities of personal and professional advancement.

Why CFA Engage?

CFA students are deeply involved with all aspects of campus life and surrounding communities. Our students are already building the knowledge, skills, and values that prepare them for life “off the Bluff.”

CFA Engage brings all aspects of student experience together in a single place, helping students to map and articulate their achievements.

At the end of the CFA Engage journey, students will curate an e-portfolio that showcases their accomplishments to both showcase and engaging in ongoing reflection and discernment.

Along the way, students have opportunities to earn incentives and deepen their connections to CFA resources, faculty, and leadership.

Getting Started

Getting started is easy! Just download the Suitable App for either iPhone or Android and sign in using your LMU (@lion.lmu.edu) e-mail and sign-on credentials.

Mobile App

Make sure you have the most updated version of the Suitable app. If you do not, search "Suitable" in your iOS App Store or Google Play Store and download it for free or click the download button for your type of device at the top of this page. Open the app once it's installed.
Enter your @lion.lmu.edu email address and click Continue.
The LMU portal should be listed. Click Sign In.
